Visa Grant Delay 189

I beg to differ… see the below

So does that mean the application lodged on or before April 2019 will be processed by 2019 year end?

Mine is also FURTHER ASSESSMENT ; but what does it mean techincally?

I think it’s talking about financial year. So by June 2020, 1218 visas can be granted, which is the tiresome period of 7 months only for those have applied before mid-april 2019. No not such a great news as we have already waited for a long time.

@ [Harishan] please correct me if I’m mistaken.

Thanks. But I though it’s an automatic update after a while. In other words, their system might change status to FURTHER STATUS if the case has been lodged for more than 6/7 months.

Can you confirm if it means the above, or if it means that a case officer has manually triggered the update for us?

There are some changes in immi account after 16 nov so it happen auto or done manually by co

so how many months or days co contacted you and for what documents like co contacted after 8 months

Rest assured it’s not automatic. FURTHER ASSESSMENT only comes after the CO has asked u to provide additional documents and u provide those documents. Only then status changes

Yeah CO contacted after 8 months of lodgement and he asked a form which i did provide earlier but even then he asked. He might have skipped in the documents list. May be.

can you tell me which form and exactly how many days did co contact and what is your status in immi account .

You are right. Applications lodged until mid April would be finalised by Jun 2020 if DHA tries to fill the quota of 16k grants for 189 visa. Nevertheless, DHA doesn’t have any obligation to fill the quota too. Let’s wait and watch.

Just for me to clarify total 189 places planned to be filled till end of June 2020 is around 13K of the 16K planned ? So if yes it means they didn’t work on 189 almost this year

I lodged my application on March 31st 2019, when can i expect grant? In Jan 2020 if not by end of this year?

no i have submitted for 8 mths now and its still received. I think it has to be chnage dmanually by a co otherwise it will remain received.

I just got information from an agent that till last week the current caseload of 189 (including backlog from last financial year) has down to around 11000 whereas 190 has gone up to 16000

Hello Everyone,

I have lodged my application in April, 2019 and no CO contacts yet but now I am adding my partner in my application as a de-facto relationship. We have been in a relationship for more than 1 year now and living together since Feb, 2019.

My question is that what documents do we have to provide to proof our de-facto relationship? What sort of documents have your guys provided to proof your relationship?

Looking forward to hearing from your guys. Thanks ahead

That are working on 189 applications lodged before March 2019 so far. They have touched few applications lodged in early March and asked for further information. Reason why they are too slow in picking up March applications is that they already have a backlog of 10,598 applications on hand lodged until Feb 2019. So they are trying to finalise these 10,598 applications first and slowly pick an additional 4054 applications lodged since March 2019 and finalise before June 2020 to reach their quota of 14652 applications for FY 2019-2020.

You can expect your grant anytime before June 2020 if CO is satisfied with all your documents. But we don’t know when will they pick your application/ if they have already picked your application. If you want to know till which month a CO is assigned as of today, you need to ask your registered agent to submit a request to DHA under FOI act (Freedom of Information). For eg, DHA has revealed on 10th May 2019 that applications that are lodged until 28th Feb 2019 have been allocated a CO for initial assessment.
