Visa Grant Delay 189

@Harishan any idea about the grand for applications submitted in July 2019?

The data I got is as on May 10 2019 and it says CO was assigned for applications lodged until Feb 28 2019. However, I don’t have any data on the applications that were lodged after Feb 28 2019. So, I couldn’t comment whether a CO assigned to your case or not.

Applications lodged in Jul 2019 would be granted in next FY I.e, 2020-21. Because, the No. of places for 189 in the FY 2019-20 is just 16652 including NZ stream.

what reports say that co assigned to applicant till 28 feb can you tell us in brief

Oh my goodness, that’s exactly what I have suspected though I don’t want to believe it. But someone earlier said DHA have been always giving more invitations than the quota, and this has been last for a few years, maybe this year, government just made their mind to cut off 189 stream and control the numbers of 189 grants. Really frustrating.

What’s more scary is, what if 2020-21 quota for 189 is only like a few thousand(government is really working hard on pushing people to regional area, I do think there is a good chance they may decrease the number or even cancel this stream), will someone have to wait until 2021-22?

I just read one of the agent who post the newsletter every week. 190 visa: lodged visa application on 03 Oct, grant on 10 Nov
 what the
?

Joint Lease, joint bills, joint bank account, relationship certificate, tickets if you travelled somewhere together, partners english score, pictures if possible - basically whatever proof you have that your relationship Is genuine and ongoing. Let me know if you have any doubts

It might be true that they are cleaning the applications before Feb up until now. Since last official document in May 2019 said that they have 18000 cases on hand, i assumed that this has been brought down to around 14000-16000 when the new financial year started given that during May and June 189 was processed as usual.

In sep the backlog was around 12860 including kiwis. Given that each application may include around 2.5 people, i would say probably yes a lot of people who lunched before July may not even get grant till next financial year
 So sad to admit that

anyone knows 190’s quota for 2019-2020 and the backlog?

This is not true. I lodged my visa on 27th of February and till now I didn’t get any update at all.

that’s why they update processing time to 18-33 months, they are delaying this year’s application to next years quota?!

I saw an agent posted that 190 has a backlog larger than 189.

And people who lodged after July 2019 may have to wait until 2021-22 ?! I don’t wanna believe it but it sounds reasonable according to the data we searched.

Thanks Nik-hill for your reply. could you please drop your contact number, so that i will contact you

Yeah
It doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to be contacted if a CO is assigned to your case. each case is different and processing time varies based on various factors. Hope you receive a D.G.

You are right. Applications lodged post April 2019 might need to wait for FY 2020-21 for grants if DHA reaches its quota limit for FY 2019-20

So folks who lodged their application before April 2019 can expect grant in Jan 2020?

maybe just before July 2020 but the exact time we are not sure

I understand your urge but we have discussed this point earlier. Folks who lodged before April 2019 can expect their update from DHA before Jun 2020. I.e, before the ending of current Financial year.

Some believe applications lodged before mid April 2019 should receive grant before July 2020.
