Again this assumption is based on that 189 NZ stream has 2000 places within total 16652 places for 189 in FY 2019-20. If the number of grants for NZ stream is more than 2000, then even the March and April applicants have to wait for next FY 2020-21.
Visa Grant Delay 189
What about those from dec 2018
Should get an update this FY 2019-20.
Anybody knows how many places reserved for NZ stream within 189 subclass??
you have to wait like everyone else
It looks you are pretty sure about that, how came to this expectation that do you have any reliable information?
Applications can include multiple people, however the information the DHA provides is actually âpending applicantsâ, therefore each âpending applicantâ is only one person - there can be multiple pending applicants per combined application.
This is evidenced by the DHA provided information about 15,719 pending applicants at the end of May 2019, and splitting these between 7,101 Primary Applicants and 8,618 Secondary Applicants.
The number of Primary Applicants pending is the number of combined applications pending, the Secondary Applicants are the extra people in each combined application.
I think ISCAH have sown a little more confusion into all this by using the word âcasesâ, which from the customer perspective can be confused with combined applications rather than pending visa grants. Each person in the system regardless of whether theyâre the one with the points is 1 âcaseâ.
Therefore the backlog of â12000 casesâ that ISCAH mentions means a backlog of pending applicants (both primary and secondary), â12000 casesâ means 12,000 people in the system in absolute total. There is no need to multiply by 2.5 to get the total number of possible visa grants, these people are already included in the quote.
Hi Harishan, I lodged my application on 15 Dec 2018, and got two CO contacts on 16th March and 29th May for spouse English competency, I responded same day on both contacts. But still my application status in Immi Account showing " Received " is it because CO didnât update my case? I assume it should be in assessment stage because CO already worked on the case. Whatâs you opinion on this.
Thanks,
Nothing to worry some time co did not update the status and it will go to finalized direct.Hope you get a grant now
ok thanks for clarifying. thatâs a good news
That was very informative indeed. Thanks
Is DHA going to give priority to single applicants now ?
Yes, ISCAH has confused us. Each case is an applicant.
Most of the time CO doesnât update the status as itâs not a mandate for them to do so.
Total available places for 189 including NZ stream is 16652 places. Letâs say DHA provides approximately 4000 grants to NZ stream, the remaining places for Points tested stream (PTS) 189 would be 12652. No. of applications lodged in March 2019 is 2836. DHA already have a backlog of 10,598 applications on hand lodged until Feb 2019. So, 10598 + 2836 = 13,434 applications including primary and secondary. We have only 12652 places/grants for 189 PTS applicants in FY 2019-20 but have 13434 applicants which means 782 applicants in March will not get grants in this FY 2019-20.
Note: The above conclusion is arrived by assuming 100% grants for all the applications lodged until Feb 2019. If there is a delay / denial within the applications lodged until Feb 2019, there will be some room for DHA to consider March 2019 applications.
Letâs keep in mind not everyone is going to be getting a direct grant they can easily deny or ask for more info on any case they feel like so I feel like people need to stop speculating so much because itâs doing 2things 1 causing false hope and 2 causing unnecessary worry for others when reality is we donât have a clue whatâs going on they can do what they want when they want I know everyoneâs on edge and just looking for a answer but the reality is no1 knows we just have to wait unfortunately we are 256 days in of waiting with no co contact no noting still on received we think we have every document needed in but we could wake up to a email requesting anything they like in the morn itâs completely in there hands!
Are you sure about the single applicants ratio and family applications ratio in this 13,434 data. My point is if what youâre stating is true, then the single applicants like me might get priority over family applications.Because it will have less paper work or documentations and less burden on the Australian economy. Donât you think?
Itâs a valid point that everyone lodged until Feb 2019 will not get a decision/grant on their case 100%. In such scenario, there might be a chance for the March and April applicants to get an update in this FY. However, it depends on how many grants are issued for NZ stream applicants.
Numbers always provide right info. so itâs nothing about creating unnecessary panic. Itâs about creating awareness among the applicants so that they can focus on their daily life rather than putting their lives on hold for this visa.
We donât have number bifurcating single and family applicants. So, no comments on that.
Is there an annual report that DHA publish containing all relevant information about grants and application on hand?
There is no annual report as such but you can check the latest disclosure logs at https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/access-and-accountability/freedom-of-information/disclosure-logs/2019. I guess a MARA agent can submit his query to DHA and ask for relevant details under Freedom of Information (FOI) act. Below is the most latest and comprehensive report - https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/foi/files/2019/fa-190601141-document-released.PDF
