Lodge : Jan 21st 2019
1st CO: Apr 2019 for wife’s medicals
2nd CO: Jul 2019 for Form 815
3rd CO: Feb 2020 for repeat PCC and medicals
4th CO: Feb 16th 2022 for repeat PCC, Medicals & Form 80s
5th CO: Mar 24th 2022 for Form 815
Grant : Apr 14th 2022

THE JOURNEY
2015:
- H1B Application not picked in the lottery
- My wife being a Sales Manager at Thomas Cook foreign exchange dept gets in touch with sales head of Y-Axis consultancy for official business.
- He plants this idea of Australia migration in my wife’s head
2016:
- After a research of 6-8 months, with Y-Axis’ help I file my first EOI in Sep, PTE first attempt - missed full mastery by 1 point in Speaking (Close call 1).
- Lost first 4 yrs of experience in assessment since I don’t have Australian study or employment experience and I’m not from IT background but working in IT.
- So had only 60 points while filing EOI. At that time we used to get 189 invites for 65 points in some cases even 60.
2017:
- It has been a rough year for me with my wife’s troubled pregnancy and pre-term birth of my son, so couldn’t give my PTE again
- Trump triggered the H1B nest in US and most of the applicants moved to Australian PR and the invite points shot up to 75-80
2018
- Waited till my experience increased and added 5 points and gave my PTE 2nd attempt - Full mastery. Added 10 points
- Points increased to 75 but EOI expired in September. Filed another EOI
2019:
- Got invited on Jan 11th, Lodged application on 21st Jan
- Medicals in Feb 2019, Cleared for me and my son, but extended medicals for my wife citing scars in xray even though she had no history of respiratory issues. (Close Call 2)
- 1st CO contact in Apr 2019 asking for the delay in medicals. Medicals cleared in June for my wife after sputum test and repeat xray.
- I wanted to update Form 815 proactively but my agent didn’t allow me (Close Call 3)
- 2nd CO contact in Jul 2019 for Form 815.
- 189 processing stopped after July due to policy changes and introduction and prioritization of 491.
2020:
- Jan and Feb 2020 saw a spur of CO contacts for 189
- 3rd CO contact in FEB 2022 for repeat medicals and PCC. They granted all Jan 2020 contacts and stopped by the time it was time for Feb contacts (Close Call 4)
- That is when I decided I wont keep my life on hold for the grant and will plan once it is in hand.
2021:
- Better to delete this yr from the records
2022:
- Saw the light again in Feb 2022 when 4th Co contact came for repeat medicals, PCC and Form 80s.
- Submitted everything, analysed and even predicted my grant date but got my 5th CO contact on March 24th for Form 815 again since my wife’s first medicals was extended. (close Call 5)
- The process slowed down again, not many contacts and grants but there was a little hope in the fact that i don’t have to do anything else for the next 1 yr.
- Finally out of the blue on Apr 14th, My wife woke me up for a mail notification on my phone and saw the grant mail.

There are lot of 190 grants issued even during public holidays.

Yes I also saw so many 190 getting processed recently on Facebook groups but I only saw onshore and recently lodged getting grants.
Ok…This is really depressing that we are waiting for too long…we cannot understand their strategy…

Bro my application is in received status from the begining, it means they did not saw the application till this date or there could be another thing like they are doing verification or something else??
