Visa Grant Delay 189

What kind of new method?

I heard from a Facebook program by agent that department is thinking to implement new approach to process old visa applications more quickly because reputation is on stake.Although till this date this is just a verbal news according to them as department is now sincere on this, so what will be the new method or approach still not clear…

Bro any news from your side??

No nothing. Every group is silent.

Election is on 21 May. I think if immigration start processing rapidly then I don’t think that it will effect to election in anyway. Now there is no reason to hold further…

I have submitted the application on May-2020 for 189 skilled visa under 261313-Software engineer code. The status is still received and no CO contact so far. I am currently in India. Did anyone receive offshore grant recently for software engineer? Anyone having the same case as me?

Also, will my application get priority if I move to Australia with a work visa?

Many thanks, Sumit

@Sumit_Negi Just hang in there. In next batch of co contacts hopefully we will get it. Now I can’t say when will it happen but it will happen soon. By the way I am also software engineer waiting for my 189 grant with status received.

One 190 offshore grant reported

@Sumit_Negi No worries. I have submitted in August 2019. No co contact yet. There are many in the same boat.

Me waiting since Aug 2019,no co contact, developer programmer, offshore…there are lot like us since 2018/19….

Bro any news today??

No bro

I also saw people from 2022 getting grants. How fair it is for people waiting from 2018/2019 and 2020? In a few days I am going to cross 33 months wait. 3 babies can be born in that much time and they can’t finalise my application. And what was the purpose of points system? We have claimed points before them and yet we are made to wait endlessly. So many questions but no one to answer as we are not Australian citizens yet so our lives does not matter to them.

Even they do not care of citizens bro and citizens are also frustrated from them. now there is no reason to hold the grants even covid is gone but they are working on same strategy of priority, they are not changing the direction of processing, even priority applications are not getting their grants. I have doubt on their data that they fulfil the quota of financial year (2021-2022). Even these so called mara agents are just saying they have no idea on processing, then I am asking what you know ?? why people hiring these agents if they do not have any clue on the strategy of department.

Even states are better than immigration department, they are regularly releases nominations. I think immigration should handover their work to individual states to grant visas to people.

True mate. If they have to wait for 6 months then thats fine given that many have to wait for 3 years and more. Granting them visa in 7 days when people waiting for same category of visa for 36 months is cruel. HK stream will chew up all 189 seats and misery for skilled independent stream will continue forever. What a joke this system has become. Hope there are some major reforms once the new govt is formed.

True. I think labour govt should come in power but can’t say anything as people are frustrated from both major parties and the margin between these two is narrow as per polls.

yes, I heard that this current government further cut the funding to home affairs in this budget. so, change of mindset is necessary…
