In FOI request, I have requested for all documents and their actions taken towards my application. I have provided signed consent of secondary application. They have provided all documents against FOI reply, even their internal email exchanges (without email IDs). It was very easy to find that where is my application stuck.

I think the co contacts in 2019 used to have city name as well. Later they stopped mentioning it

Submitting FOI for “received status” won’t help you in getting any information on your file. “Received status” means that the case officer haven’t even touched your application yet.

Information for India Offshore people

If you are expecting a CO contact for PCC / Medicals, please schedule your PCC ahead of time. The process to issue PCC has been amended recently and it will take around 2-3 weeks to get it. I tried booking an appointment on 16th Feb, got appointment for 22nd March. The 2-3 weeks will commence from the date of application, so I will have to wait for 2 odd weeks before I get it.

Yes, it is better to proactively get the PCC done if the previous one is expired. As per the new rule, police verification is required. Because of this, the passport office does not give the PCC and it comes via post after police verification.
