Visa Grant Delay 189

Thanks!

Guys is this true on immi tracker
The people got almost 15 CO contact of Feb?

Possibly even more given many people are unaware/unwilling to update details in immi tracker. I’m curious how long it could take for a CO contact to lead to a final grant.

Yup, you too mate. That’s definitely music to my ears. Also I noted DHA has been refurbishing their website lately, especially COVID19 related webpages. Let’s hope it’s a sign that DHA is trying get more files processed in 2022.

Immi account under major maintenance

New legislation https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2022L00340

This could impact the 189 allocated ceiling because of addition of Hong Kong residents in 189 stream.

New pathway to PR for 482 visa holders. New legislation was published yesterday. In general from what we understand so far after reading the new legislation: All the current and (potentially) recent 482 visa holders might be eligible irrespectively of the occupation (a reference to MLTSSL is removed) It’s under Transition Stream of SC 186 visa. Applications can be lodged from 1 July 2022. The applicant has been in Australia for at least 12 months between 1 February 2020 and 14 December 2021 At the time of nomination application, the prospective visa applicant must have worked FULL TIME for the same employer for at least 3 years in the preceding 4 years (excluding periods of unpaid leave and reduced hours) At the time of nomination application and a visa decision applicant must still work for the same employer who nominated the position for an ENS visa. The new rules sort of mirror the old 457->186 TRT pathway. Home Affairs procedural Instructions are not updated yet, so we may not have answers to quirky questions and all the “what if’s”. Feel free to ask the questions under this post Our comments. As of 31 Dec 2021 - there were a total of 90,737 482 visa holders in Australia (primary and secondary total). Even if a quarter of them will be eligible for a new pathway, we are talking about >20k potential ENS visa applicants. For this FY government allocated 22k places for ENS. The question remains how many places will be allocated for ENS for the next financial year and what’s gonna be a ceiling in the next financial year Migration Planning Levels. Will they be still focused on the Family program, or not? All of above may and will impact the pool of invitations for 189/190/491 - don’t forget there is a new 189 stream for HKG citizens
, so for those who are wondering if getting an invitation for 189 under a points stream - I wouldn’t hold my breath There are still many pending ENS TRT applications in the systems. People are waiting for 1-2 years or more.

Addition of Hong Kong residents will definately impact the remaining allocation of 189 which is 7200 maximum for this financial year. Before was just New Zealand and now Hong Kong. Remember they don’t have to go for points test or invitation for applying 189. It’s very simple and streamlined system for them just like a visitor visa. @johnfreal consider yourself lucky if your application status is on further assessment. You can expect grant in a few weeks.

True, with all these changes, I guess in a sense we are all lucky to have the priviledge to experience this endless waiting.

Seeing this status change have not actually made me feel any easier, at least not until the final grant which might happen no one knows when.

But I just feel so sad for many excellent people that have to give up on hopes for 189 for factors totally out of their control.

Don’t worry bro. Getting case officer request for pcc and medical means that they have gone through all of your submitted documents. You are just one last step away from your grant. So good luck :+1:
