Visa Grant Delay 189

Congratulations buddy… enjoy the moment…

Hi @ramit_shah… congratulations for achieving this milestone. May i please ask when was the last time you completed your visa medicals? Thanks

I don’t get it people who were being contacted on 25, 26 and 28 February 2021 with almost everyone having probably this one as their second CO contact, are not getting grants but people who were contacted by CO after these dates are getting grants? Can anyone shed some light on it?

Mate,No one knows how they assess the application. We are onshore and occupation already in priority list still no grants. We lodged file in April 2020.

SC 189 granted

Software engineer - 90 points

Invitation received in March 2020

Application submitted on 21st April 2020, on our own.

Medical : May 2020

Grant date: 19th April 2021

Primary applicant: onshore Secondary applicant: offshore

We did our PCC again and uploaded it last month. We did it as a precautionary measure, without CO asking us to do that.

We did take some assistance from fabulous migration agents but we filed our application on our own.

Hello Everyone,

Is anyone waiting for grant under developer programmer occupation (261312) in this group?

Thanks in Advance

please dont panic as you are onshore and your essential docs are within the expiry date so you will get grant sooner or later its just matter of time.

Yes and I don’t get it why February ones are not being granted

Yeah… The way the visa grants work is a total mystery!!

Hi Anyone know how long does it take nowadays for PCC from AFP I have applied a week ago and didn’t received it yet.

It takes 7-8 business days I’d applied for it on Monday and I got it next Tuesday…

If you receive a message that it has been sent via post, then it’ll be in your mailbox in 2-3 days. (Melbourne region)

I got mine in a week’s time too and I’m in Brisbane atm. It may depend on the state and city as well is what I’m guessing.

Hey guys,

I’m not the most optimistic guy here but been a member for a couple of years now. Maybe my story will give you some motivation to hang on.

I applied 189 point tested for developer programmer on 26th November 2018 at (then needed) 75 points, while being onshore. Had a job in IT, which I lost by end of 2018 due to “No actual visa” as I only had a bridging visa with no fixed time period.

Worked blue collar jobs for the next year and half, and had to visit my family overseas in February 2020. But got stuck due to the pandemic. Suffered for a while year, and no CO contact since the lodgement (almost 29 month). Lost my savings, lost my job in Sydney, lost my renting property, credit card and bill’s got stacked and I thought it was the end of it. No more Australia.

Applied for ABF travel exemption and got rejected several times. Contacted DIBP global helpline, but no luck. Tried the Commonwealth Ombudsman, no luck. Did everything possible to get any progress on my application but no use. Submitted PCCs in order to get attention by no luck.

Finally, got a CO contact on 29th February 2021 asking for Medicals and form 80. Submitted everything by 13th April 2021, and got my grant just now. This very morning. I wish you all the best, and I hope you all get your grants asap. Hats off to Cachito and others for being so helpful and active on this forum. Keep up the good work (and get your desired visas asap).

29 painful months, but now it doesn’t even matter.
