Hello Everyone I have lodged my 189 independent in 261313 software engineer in August 2019. Applied onshore but currently offshore. When is the logical time i can expect a grant? Are there any other members who are in the same situation? The wait is ruining my life.
Visa Grant Delay 189
Same profession, same status, visa lodged Nov 2018. Donāt get your hopes high
Try to get signatures for this petition.
Be mindful that the only ones valid are from permanent residents or citizens.
Bro you mean i should give up my hope?
Ok I will ask my friends to sign it
Thanks
I applied on 3rd April 2019, with same profession currently onshore. Havenāt heard back from DHA since 13th Feb when i got CO contact to redo medical examination and PCC checks. I have signed the petition lets see if that helps.
I have a question if anyone can answer the current allocation of 6500 slots for 189, is it for visa grants or for visa invitations?
Visa Grants.
There is a response on this you can find on the disclosure log.
Itās maybe from 2019 not sure, but thatās the answer.
Bro please let us know here when you get your grant. You will get it soon.
Is it including NZ stream?
Thatās disappointing to know because last i checked the disclosure logs they have 5532(as of 15th Sep) applicants still waiting for 189 visa grants. So if they issue new invitations for NZ stream and give them priority then it seems very difficult for us to get the grant.
Which means they are not going to issue many invitations and try to clear the backlog of 11000 pending 189 applications
We donāt know. There is no answer for this.
Some Inmigration agents suggest thatās the possible scenario.
We need to strive for getting them processed by age as there are many cases brought forward from previous financial years, plus de new ones, not many though, but they need to provide the oldest cases with a decision first.
This waiting experience is really traumatizing, letās hope for the best and continue to share relevant information as it unfolds
Scomo closely follows New Zealand govt. New Zealand is opening soon probably this month. Australian govt should learn something from them.
Lets hope so.
Btw my case is similar to yours, although my category is 242111. Similar, in the sense, I also applied as an onshore applicant on 11 June 2019 and now offshore. I actually applied for two visas i.e. 485 and 189, both applications have not been yet decided. They cannot publish the outcome of 485 while I am outside Aus. But I am more interested in 189 anyways.
Well, my understanding is they have implemented an elimination strategy with the virus.
Iām sure they are now open to limited countries with very few reported cases. They have talked about travel bubbles, so this is not a widely open border.
Australia will do the same. This is what these two Governments have asserted on where their policies are heading in this fight with the Covid.
They will start granting 485 soon as mentioned in their latest amendment that it can be granted while offshore but the length of stay will start when you reach onshore.
