Thanks everyone!

Hi, is it true that Immigration has resumed PR grants for Offshore applications?

They desperately need migrants to build their economy… Soon we will hear the news that favor us.

Yes, I received a 189 offshore grant on 22 Sept.

Education is not shown in immitracker. Also, just a matter of fact, anyone with PhD (& post PhD/Post doctoral exp) will better apply for Global Talent Independent Visa and not 189 skilled Visa.

Congrats on your grant.

Long wait.

This occupation is in the priority list.

Were you requested to do medicals again?

Not my grant …someone else reported it in…medicals is a good point n he is yet to respond on it!

Not necessary (though it sounds like it) …there r multiple variables n parameters involved other than this as well!

Great, that was fast Evan, wish you all the best in Australia. I hope more Offshore grants are on their way now.

The treasurer has already said in a press conference that there will be negative migration for the next two years. I think the treasurer saying something is more authoritative than University of NSW.

Economist is in the Critical Sectors list. Priority Two. There will be no offshore grants on their way unless your sector is on this page: https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/critical-skills-and-sectors

This means they won’t award any of the visas that are being processed?

You’re suggesting only critical occupations will be awarded with a visa in the next two years?

I clicked the link you just shared and I don’t see Economist.

Where is the priority two list?

Because you are not reading what I said. I did not link to the PMSOL which is only relevant to the Employer Nominated streams, I linked to the page with the bullet pointed list of sectors which are considered critical. Of course “Economist” isn’t on that list, it’s not a list of occupations. It’s a list of sectors, namely ones which are considered critical to Australia’s economic recovery.
