Visa Grant Delay 189

No, I did not say that or anything like that. Only critical skills will be invited to apply. There is no legal basis for them to halt processing on applications under assessment unless it is a cap and queue or cap and cease scenario.

Why are you always so negative and create panic hereā€¦ we all know what treasurer has said negative immigration means overall net immigration will be negative for next two years as temporary visas and new invites will be only on basis of priority listā€¦ that doesnt mean existing applications wont be processed for 2 yearsā€¦ Also I dont know which priority list 2 u have seen but dha has only declared one list on which 17 occupations are ther. Donā€™t give incorrect information which is personally created by you. Take care.

I have not made up a single piece of information, and it is offensive of you to suggest it. I expect you to apologise.

The PMSOL as declared in the actual page itself and the media release announcing it applies to sponsored workers. It does not apply to 189 or 190 visas. Thatā€™s even on the Home Affairs page - actually carefully read that bullet point list. It specifically mentions the sectors which Australia has determined are vital to economic recovery, and that list encompasses far more than 17 occupations - namely financial technology, large scale manufacturing, film, media and television production and emerging technology, medical technology, critical infrastructure, telecommunications, engineering and mining, supply chain logistics, aged care, agriculture, primary industry, food production, and the maritime industry. Bullet points three and four).

I also specifically said existing applications being processed arent going to suddenly cease. New applications for accountants for example are unlikely to be invited to apply or selected for assessment.

I also donā€™t think itā€™s helpful to point to a policy statement from University of NSW for example saying Australia needs more migration and say ā€œthis is great! This means offshore processing will resume soon!ā€ - thatā€™s false hope, because UNSW doesnā€™t actually write policy.

Hi Kyanar, thank you for clarifying your points which were otherwise not clear at the beginning. Do you think the engineering and mining sector as listed includes trade occupations?.

Which ones do you mean? Are you talking like geotechnical engineers, mining vehicle operators? This part is opinion only, but I would expect the less technical occupations which can be done with just a TAFE certificate they probably wouldnā€™t invite for as they would want to get some of the newly unemployed doing them but if itā€™s a fairly technical occupation which requires a degree youā€™d probably get an invite.

I already submitted my visa application in January so was eagerly waiting for immigration to resume processing and granting Offshore PR visas. ANZSCO 322311 Metal Fabricator

I was invited to apply 189 within a month after completing my EOI

You can also see someone with Anzsco 253411, I guess they have it on PMSOL list specially for you. Cheers!

Dear Kyanar

No one is uneducated here who has filled up an application under 189 or 190 all are skilled peopleā€¦ I have read in detail DHA website, infact I am a permanent resident of Australia and have done my visa processing and have helped many other in the processing of their applications of not just Australia but other countries as well.

Your first message was not clear infact it created misunderstanding panic to many users who are here for some direction being offshoreā€¦ Just bcoz you are a government employee you cant say for sure which Anzsco DHA consider under the critical sectors or which dont fall under critical sectorā€¦and Please note 2020-2021 programme details are yet to be announced on 6th October 2020 and it has been mentioned on DHA website that these lists will be revised as per australian economy need and requirementā€¦ if you refer state websites for eg vic it has been mentioned there that these are for interim allocation and will b revised as the economy moves.

All I requested from you was that please re read your message and see if it doesnt create a panic and anxiety among peopleā€¦There is nothing to take personally hereā€¦ and it was not suggested that congrats offshore processing has resumed in the post you are refering to that was shared earlier no false hope was given in that message it was a mere sharing of info as to that it might be the cause that there has been some movement in the offshore visa applications being grantedā€¦

People are already stressed as is due to visa processing being delayed due to Covid 19 and have invested a lot of energy, money everything in lodging these applications, when you share something please keep in mind that it is not incomplete information or it does not create a panic or anxiety when someone reads itā€¦ We should all support each other during this timeā€¦

Thanks

I donā€™t think he wanted to be negativeā€¦maybe realisticā€¦we are all under stress and maybe sensitiveā€¦

It looks like my question created some misunderstandingā€¦I apologise @kyanar ā€¦

We better wait for the budget to get a better picture.

I believe that critical sector meant for the people who can make exemption for travelling to Australia if they hold or applied for temporary skilled visa and it has nothing to do with PR grants

Well, I guess this information from UNNSW was shared to give us an idea of why inmigration is important for the economy of the country and how policies shouldnā€™t be so radical in this regard. Greatly appreciated by the way.

Economists are already explaining how this cut off in inmigration is factoring in the economy of the country, some examples construction and financial sector. There are many vacant properties at the moment due to the drop in migration and this is putting pressure on banks as many of these properties were financed, and so on. Itā€™s a chain and this will inevitably force the government to review their immigration policies even if theyā€™re currently very tight.

However, the annual budget is due in October. It will tell us what they are planning and where they are heading.

I think youā€™re right to say that this information doesnā€™t tell us they will process offshore visas, but definitively indicates what are the aspects The Government needs to address when they create a policy on inmigration. Itā€™s also known that the skill list results from discussion between the government and different sectors of the economy.

By the way, there is an accountant who was recently awarded a visa. So, Itā€™s hard to say if they will assess these visas. As per information on the document 68 you shared with us, there is an order to follow for visa processing and as you said the priority list seems to be written for sponsor visas, and now we all know itā€™s being applied to the other skill visas as well. However, It looks like they will grant visas for other occupations too, they just seem to be faster processing applications on the critical occupations listed.

Hi guys. I filed my application for 189 on December 1, 2018. I received the immi assessment commence email on Feb 28, 2019. I have had no CO contact. Should I write to DHA? I submitted two feedbacks ( last one in February 2020) but received a generic response. Thank you.

You should wait until mid December. You may get grant by then!

Thank you for your response. I will wait thenšŸ˜ƒ

Hi @Freaky_Stuff/Friends,

How are you able to know by when someone will get a grant ?

I have submitted my 189 visa application on 25 July 2019 with ANZSCO code 261313. My friend, who is having a similar case and submitted 3-4 months prior to me, got the grant and already reach Australia in March 2020, and I was guessing that my grant will also come soon but that did not happen as well all know because of Covid-19.

With current offshore grants, I am hopeful again that my turn will also come soon. Even I am curious to know when my turn will come. Please help me also with some timeline.

Will writing feedback have any impact on Visa processing (Positive/Negative)?

All those people who giving the timeline of grant is only based on past/present events and doing some guestimation. It may or may not come as per their given timeline. So itā€™s up to you to take them into consider or notā€¦ Giving feedback doesnā€™t have any impact on your case. So donā€™t worry on those aspects, if you find some feedback is good to give then go ahead with itā€¦
