Visa Grant Delay 189

Yes indeed. The difficulty mostly lies in departments that require what’s called “baseline security clearance”. Even us NZ citizens aren’t eligible for that - need to be Australian (the reverse does not apply in NZ). I’m with a state government department right now which is a lot less complex.

I’m not saying that a petition won’t work (though in my experience with petitions I don’t think it will), but if there is a senator willing to go to bat (that isn’t Pauline Hanson) then I think you’ll have much better luck working with them than a petition that the government (represented by Tudge and Dutton who we know are horrible people) can just ignore.

So, we need to contact a senator instead.

What is the best way to do it?

Didn’t you just say in your last post that there are news reports that some visa holders have reached out to one of the senators who is advocating on their behalf? Seems you already have the answer to that question - find out who that is.

Alternatively, the house of reps is probably a better idea. You would want to find out who the “Shadow Minister for Immigration” (the opposition immigration rep) is, and get them to put pressure on their government counterpart. The list is in a PDF on the APH site. It also tells you who the senate members are from both sides representing immigration matters.

Yes, Nick Mckim, from the greens.

My point is that the petition system allows us to collect signatures, and this way has more impact.

I’m talking about reaching out him or any other in a similar way to the petition that can show them we are many affected by this. It doesn’t have the same impact a collective issue than an individual one.

can you guys share the petition link? I know some of my friends who are currently Oz PR and they can sign

Currently the petition is under review. Once approved we will share the link.

Raised FOI like below to get clarity on job code starting with 2613**

I would like to know the statistics of 189 primary applications lodged and decision made (granted and refused) each month from 1st jan 2019 till 31st aug 2020 for the job codes starting 2613* Example: In January 2019 Applications lodged:200 Granted : 150 Refused:10 Pending: 40

Hi hope…deptt realises that atleast we deserve to knw the decision of our application…atleast decision…

Hope it is a start for granting non-critical occupations.

As long as you are onshore. The vaccine trial was suspended this morning so it’s not looking good for offshore.

Hopefully.

Fingers crossed.

This is a relatively recent application. Of course, no expired documents.

These are the weird things.

This is apparently an incident that can happen in any trial.

They will try to stick to the timeline.

Yeh exactly. Incidents happy in trials. It will take a few years for it to be approved.

Refused ? Even after invitation ?

Applied on 17 September 2018, got asked to do med&pcc again in march 2020 for information security specialist . No updates yet . Status : Further assessment .

Are you onshore?

Yes it happens, though very rare.

Yes, onshore

Thats lot of time

No clue…This is horrible…

Did you apply onshore as well ?

Just double checking because there are different stories and that can help to figure it out.
