Visa Grant Delay 189

Nice.

Thanks for the update.

This can be useful to write a petition to the Parliament.

I just read an article where a MP is going to report one of these documents as ilegal. This is regarding partner visas though because DHA seems to be having caps for this one and it shouldn’t.

So, let’s see how this document can help us.

I filed a petition of this. But they will screen it first. then accept signatures.

How long does it take for them to response? Time frame? Did you submit the petition yet?

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Thanks for your initiative and taking action on this.

Good work!!

Once they accept it please share it for getting signatures.

Sure. while the petition needs the major petitioner of ONSHORE status. I am offshore. So theoritically, they can refuse it. If I am refused, I will share it here. And somebody onshore would better make a new petition. I also created a petition CHANGE.org https://www.change.org/skilled_visa_grant

Share it if you care it!

I submitted it on 31st, Aug. Hard to know the time frame. It seems that the parliament is maintained low frequency or minmum sized. From 2nd Sept, it may get back to normal.

guys, i found this t&c applied, say: singing a petition requires residency or citizenship of au. so i suppose most of our signatures would be “legally ineligible”, anyway, could be a barrier, but better than nothing.

If it’s get rejected I can send the petition. I live in Australia.

Awesome. Thank you.

There are some more affected people living in Oz that can sign and join.

You are right We need onshore petitioners.

that’s good news, isn’t it?/

Thanks so much to helping all of us!

If you have time , you can file a petition now. Do not wait for my outcome. Take advantage of your onshore status. I find there are many duplicated petitions on this site.

Hey guys

I think we’re on the right track.

This is how people from partner visas affected by processing delay have raised attention to the issue.

Right, but the petition still needs to be created by a current Australian citizen or resident, and still can only be signed by a current Australian citizen or resident. That means that legally no one on Visitor visas can sign, no one offshore can sign, no one on bridging visas can sign, no one on temporary visas can sign.

@DBoben is onshore and will try.

It may be possible as temporary visa holders have a senate advocating for them on the exemption visas rejection and since he brought up the issue to the parliament, assessing visa criteria has been reviewed and some visas that were rejected are now reviewed and granted.

These people are temporary visa holder and this senate is now saying he will keep advocating for temporary visa holders stuck overseas.

Worst case scenario, I’m sure someone has a citizen or PR relative who can submit the petition and then we all sign it.

No no, you’re missing the point. You can’t sign it. Only residents and citizens are able to sign parliamentary petitions.

Ok I will put the petition this weekend. Bcoz I am living in Australia, hopefully I can put the petition.
