Visa Grant Delay 189

Check again. Chemical engineer from India having lodgement date of feb and co contact on 17th sept. Responded on 17th and grant date 27th

Hi All, I lodged my visa on 26 august 2018 with 70 points (Electrical engineer) onshore 11 November updated my relationship status changed from single to engaged 16 November 2018 CO asked my bachelor certificate 25 February 2019 CO asked to provide my redo my form 80, submit marriage certificate, wife passport, wife’s birth certificate and her form 80. 25 March I paid additional applicant fee 16 April 2019 CO asked to sign form 1281, provide wife’s PTE score and wife’s medical 19 June 2019 I submitted my wife’s new passport (as her old one expiring) 22 June 2019 CO asked to redo my medical and AFP again.

Any comment regarding my case will be appreciated and please comment about how I have to wait for grant though I have waited more than 13 months already.

Thanks Matt

let’s all together stay positive and just hold it tight, this is a good platform where we all are in same boat and just differs by few days or 1-2 months from our lodgement date…dont worry nothing is going to be wrong with so many people, it’s just that there has been lot of push from all sides to control immigration and invite people in australia in a control manner, they plan 20 years ahead…so they can’t stop it completely, so they are just delaying it a bit, so that everything gets stable and in control…so those who have already lodged are safe. And almost everyone, except few like me, are newer than Feb 2019 in lodgement date, so whenever it comes for grant it will start from here with i.e. us only, and this 11-22 months means, that yes we will get PR but they need time, so that people don’t start screaming, they have set the expectations that due to high volume we are not taking new people and delaying for those who have already lodged to control…

Hi all, I am a Civil Engineer from South Africa with 75 points, I lodged my 189 visa app on 05 Feb 2019, at the time of lodgement my wife and I were expecting a baby in mid July 2019. In April 2019, I notified the department of a Change in Circumstances as I was expecting a baby and needed her to be added onto the Visa. On 24 May 2019, I received a s56 Request for more Info from a CO for two things, more proof of relevant work experience and a Form 1436 to add my baby onto the visa. I submitted this requested info on 11 July 2019, the day after my baby was born and clicked the button, I have uploaded the requested info. My application went from Initial Assessment to Further Assessment. Since then, I have had no contact or movement on my ImmiAccount other than the estimated processing time going from 8-9months to 11-22months on 26 September 2019. Obviously I got a huge shock and I am now beginning to worry about when I will receive the Grant.

I also believe that we should not be panicking; the 11-22 months mean that the 75% of the applications shall be processed within 11 months. This means for the majority of the folks who lodged their application in march/april 2019, 6-7 months have already passed.

If their claim for 11-22 months is correct, what we need to see here is that the 75% of the applications should be green until February 2020 and 50% even earlier, perhaps before the new year. For some reason hey just stopped reviewing the 189 cases but it I am sure soon they will again start reviewing them at some point and we will see quick progress hopefully.

If their claim about 11-22 months is not correct, then there is no need to be panic anyway over a false promise.

Need your help in my case. I am currently on 457 visa. I have applied my PR in Feb 2019 and still did not get any update. My Current 457 Visa is expiring on 12th Oct 2019 and my bridging visa will be active. But unfortunately as per my current company policy, I cannot work on this bridging visa. So my employer is asking me to travel back to India before my current Visa expires even though I can legally stay in Australia after 12th October. Is there any way I can come out of this situation

I spent so much time and money to get the invitation. Even flew from one country to another just to complete all the requirements for my work experiences. I chose Australia thinking it’s best for me, and now i’m here stucked for something so unsure if still coming. Opening my email and immi account more than thrice everyday for the past 9 months with floating hopes that finally i’ll get what i worked so hard for. But September 26, 2019 changed everything. I honestly felt so frustrated and thinking what will i do next with my path and where to settle for good.

This taught me a lot in life, we don’t have control over every circumstances. I totally lose my grip of planning the future. It’s only God that has the control.

I feel sorry for us, everyone with my same case. I pray that one day we’ll have our bright share in the future. We might have our fate better in some other places. No one could explain how we all feel except each other with same case.

hold on mate i lived in oz for 6 years beleive me its worth the wait i regret ever leaving and we are also so frustrated waiting to start living again and not be stuck in limbo but we know that once the grant comes through it will all be worth it australia is amazing

We lodged in early December 2018-still waiting!. CO contacted us in May 2019 for updated medicals which we did immediately. Hope we dont have to wait 22 months. As other contributors have mentioned so many plans have to be put on hold until granted. Were on 457 having now worked in Oz for 18 months. Best to stay positive

Thanks Denise, yes i visited and stayed in Australia twice so i know how it feels. I really appreciate your encouragement, just felt really devastated when i saw my application status was changed to 11-22 months of waiting. I’m bit stucked into something coz i thought i was migrating this year. But have to move on and go on with life.

Cheers!

Hi Raghu, Why do you need go back to India? If you are under bridging visa, you can’t travel out of Australia unless you apply for an extra Bridging B visa before you go. All bridging visa is following the conditions as your previous visa, I think for you is 457. You still have working rights. I recommend you try to argue with your company and you don’t need to back to India at all.

Hi Cliffeim, really sorry for giving advice you didn’t ask for))), but in your case I would really consider contacting the department to explain your situation in case they can speed up your application. To me it sounds like a valid reason. I had some really good experience with the department in the past when they just gave me my bridging visa B after I just explained them on the phone that I had to urgently fly to Russia. Normally it would take them a week. They didn’t even ask for any proof. Obviously, PR is different to a bridging visa, but maybe it is worth a try writing a good cover letter explaining your situation. The point is I think is that in some cases the department is more understanding than we think of it)))

I am still working with 457 visa, my visa will be expiring on 12th October. Bridging visa will be active from 13th October. So my company is suggesting me to leave before 12th October.

I feel you victor, we can’t articulate the whole experience better than you did, especially, checking immi account and emails twice or thrice a day. I hope our waiting comes to an end soon, and until then we got to hold on tight and hope to see the light which will end our plight. cheers! Aj

190 Feb applicants too are getting grants…God knows when 189 Feb tracker would become green…Really feeling low…
