Can anyone check with their agents what would be the implications for not having any processing timelines in Home affairs website

I just checked with my agent and he told me “it’s a normal thing, he has seen this in past also, last year for 489 and other visas”. Don’t know whether he is right or just pretending to show that everything is ok.

one of my friends has received a mail.stating that starting Dec20 is Holding and it would resume by Jan2.2020

government offices only close 25,26 dec and jan 1st. those are the only public holidays. but the overall grants will definitely slow down until the first week of jan, because a lot of workers tend to take extended holidays during this time of the year.

He was taking it pretty casually. He mentioned the only reason is due to upcoming holidays and according to him such timelines have appeared before also. Don’t know how much to believe as while lodging my visa he told me that u will surely be getting grant within 4 months :smiley:

To be honest, i have seen this multiple times with agents - they are all sweet, encouraging, promising, sharing info, proactive, dedicated, charming 
 it all ends as soon as your Transaction of fees is complete :pleading_face:

I am on the verge of completing 300 days of lodgement and from my whole experience, one thing is for sure that we cannot predict anything as far as DHAs working is concerned. Who would have thought that the timeline can reach to max of 33 months from 4-5 months and now the recent information about timeline is totally misleading and inappropriate. We all know, there are plenty of applications pending for decision. I wish I would have opted for Canada express entry, i would have easily settled by now instead of checking immitracker every 5 min.

God Forbid, it doesn’t mean what u have thought it to be, bro it only means they have low number of applications, but they are misleading us, they already have thousands of applications in their pipeline, so how come applications be this much less all of a sudden,

we all can only pray for our grants soon, but i suspect grants will resume to their fullest in Jan 2020.

If you regularly check the DHA site, you’d have seen for certain visas they periodically have that “no processing times cos of low volume of applications”. So this for 189 is nothing to worry about.

You all need to remember that the processing times advertised are not a forward projection as has been explained by DHA previously. It’s a report of visas processed for the month under review. When they have the 75th/90th percentiles, it means the worst time it took the 75th and 90th percentile of 100 to get the grant that month. So if there were 100 applications processed that month, doesn’t matter if 70 of those applications had only been lodged 1 month before, it reports the period the 75th and the 90th had been waiting. So my speculation is that for November 2019, they didn’t process sufficient 189 visas for them to have reliable and sufficient information. You’d be surprised that when they update again In January, cos they’ve processed sufficient this month, they will advise the correct processing times as seen in December. Cheers.

Since the Global processing times are an indication of the past and not future, what I believe, they mean is, the volume of the applications “PROCESSED” in the last 30 days was so low that they couldn’t measure the processing times based on it.
