Hi, they granted your wife visitor visa while your application is still in progress? My agent didnt allow my wife to apply for the visitor visa, saying that would be refused for sure. We have been living apart for nearly one year. Really frustrating.
Visa Grant Delay 189
Hi Scdesh, there is no option for applicant offshore.
Hi, As far as I know, there is no rule as such to not apply Briding visa when you are in Australia. Bridging Visa can be applied on any valid Australian Visa and while applying you can always give the PR Visa application reference. I am not sure why Agents always say this, I had come across with same answer from another applicant.
There would be no affect on processing time for PR Visa. Only thing you need to make sure is, withdraw Bridging Visa application immediately if you receive 189 Visa prior to Bridging Visa. This looks little scary, thats the reason why MARA agent advise is vital here.
According to MyImmiTracker data, since 1 October 2019 to today (29 November 2019), the 2019 applicants for the:
- 190 visa stream has gone from 8.6% to 50% granted
- 489 visa stream has gone from 19.5% to 43.4% granted.
These calculations includes new applications. At this rate, they will run out of 190 applicants by February 2020 and 489 will be completed by April 2020. Of course there is a holiday period in between that will slow down processing, but not applications for the 190 steam. If they run out, then maybe they will get going on the 189 visa stream again.

People working in DHA are not human beings. This is really non sense that we are waiting from last 9 months and someone got grant within 50 days…
With 491 replacing 489, these resources will just shifted to processing 491 applications I suppose?
Hi guys. For submitting 190 eoi after lodging 189, what should be done? Creating another skillselect account and sending eoi??
Agree, but what are they going to do with the 190 resources? If the past two months are used as a proxy, then their pipeline will run out long before the end of this financial year. (i.e. 30 June 2020).
or maybe they will move onto 491 from Janury🙂
I heard Queensland opened up their 190 allocation, and had to close it in 24 hours due to them getting enough applicants to last them till then end of the financial year. So in other words I just expect more 190 applications to be logged.
Checking out the 190 tracker I see more lodgements every day…so they may catch up a bit but they will never run out of work I think
Then when will they start working on 189? They are processing all visas except 189…
That is why this thread is 1135 posts long and counting - because we don’t have any idea as to what is happening there
Guys. is it possible to apply for 190 ,? as we’re waiting for 189 for long time. is it wise idea??
I though the same, but, i evaluate, my Degree assessment will expire within 4 months. My PTE score will too in these months. And what if ill be able to get an invite in the mean time. Again i have to submit tons of money plus all the documentation. I personally felt an awful idea. Plus wastage of money and time. And maybe another reason of anxiety.
So. we can’t attach the application in same account? Do we need to pay and start the process from the beginning?
Yes, if you have been invited for any subclass, it doesnt mean you can switch to any other subclass while snapping of fingers. We have to get the whole process start from the beginning.
As 189 is going in lumbering pace when we can expect DHA Starts to look into 189 at a fast pace???
Many important decisions are not being taken just because of this killing wait timeline of 189.
I have lodged my application in 28-March-2019 and the expected date of grant is being considered as 1-Feb-2020. should i believe in these statistics or it could take more time than this???
Before Feb 2020 we should be getting grant…Don’t worry
