I lodged on 31st March as well. For which occupation? I’m for software engineer. Please let me know if you get any CO contact.

Hi Bhajan,

If you would like to reduce the turn around time, better to do PTE before CO contact and upload them and send the link, its the best option. If you don want to do PTE at least upload degree transcripts to support the college letter. uploading only letter will lead to more CO contacts asking for evidence. Its my suggestion, because of this I got 2 CO contact just relying on the letter and degree certificate since my agent advised its sufficient.

Thank you… got it…

Hi yogi… Thanks for the advice. I will get my wife PTE done as soon as possible. But how will DHA deal with new functional english evidence? because initially while lodging my application I said that my wife’s functional english evidence is college letter and now I will say PTE.

Hi Rabbit19 Can you please send me the document or link about the information of those 2700 visas till oct and 500 visa of november is referring. I want to see and so want to keep an eye over it. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the information…

I have asked my consultant to send a simple one line polite follow up email on the email id from which the CO contacted earlier …,hope that doesn’t goes negative and they (DHA or case officer) won’t feel anything bad or get annoyed about it…any comments…?

3 years in regional area. not designated area. He or she can move within those regional areas across Australia.

Anzcode 261313 - developer programmer. No, I haven’t received any CO. What about you?

Quote "The visa validity period is 5 years. Conditions, namely 8579 will be imposed which will enforce the government’s intentions that visa holders live, work and study only in regional areas and if employer sponsored, only in the nominated position. Visa holders can move between regional areas. Regional areas are defined as any area excluding Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Important change: Perth and Gold Coast are classified as regional areas.

Holders of the new provisional visas will also be unable to apply for most other skills based visas in Australia unless they have completed at least three years in a designated regional area, unless exceptional circumstances exist. Additionally, similar to current arrangements for the subclass 457 and 482 visa program, holders of the new provisional visas can be negatively impacted by sponsor non-compliance.

The new 491 visa permanent pathway will be:

  • Subclass 191 Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) : To meet the requirements of the permanent visa (from November 2022) applicants must have held a subclass 491 or 494 visa for at least 3 years, have complied with the conditions on that visa and have met minimum taxable income requirements. You must show earnings of at least $53,900 per annum for three years. Your partner can also be the main applicant for the 191 visa if they can demonstrate this criteria."

I missed the word invites. It was 3200 invites.

DHA is working on long pending applications right now and they will try to resolve those cases first. So March applicants have to wait for next year.

Yes, I lodged in Dec 2018, and my immi status shows as further assessment. I am not sure how long will it take. I have had 3 co contacts. Patience is the key  :pray:

Same here I lodged in jan. 1 co contact. And further assessment.

But March applicants are also waiting for quite a long period now. If folks who are getting one or more COs for older applications then why should we suffer too.Just saying!!!

I agree we applied 10th March and medicals done 10th April and have heard noting at all status still received I feel like if u at least get a co contact it’s done form of communication where’s we’ve been waiting over 8 months now with zero interaction feel like I’m going crazy sometimes my whole life is consumed in it even do we try to live normally day to day it really does effect every factor of our life can’t commit to work or long leases in house as we just can’t settle here in Ireland we want to go bk to oz and I know we’ve put ourselves in this situation so all we can do is wait but I don’t think I would have ever applied if I had seen the wait period of 18 to 33 months so frustrating…

Yes…its 8 months now for March applicants. But, 189 is the least priority for DHA when compared to Regional visas (491 & 494) and 190. So, with the minimum staff allocated to 189, they focus on clearing the backlogs first. However, I feel that since applications lodged until Feb 2019 have been in processing for quite sometime, they should move to March applicants in next few months.

As you already had multiple CO contacts and its been close to an year since you lodged your visa application, I hope that you would receive an update within this year.

Your situation is same like most of us. It’s challenging to keep this issue away from your mind constantly. Moreover, 189 was doing well when we all applied in March 2019 so we can’t blame ourselves too. Let’s keep an year mark and hope to receive an update on/before March 2020.

I have seen a few CO contacts for lodgment date April 6th and 9th in immitracker. Am I missing something here or our files are already with CO’s and we might soon see a flood of grants as the Nov changes are done and dusted ?
