Visa Grant Delay 189
The way things moved in Feb-22 i was expecting faster visa processing since borders were open but was wrong. IRCC of Canada has set a deadline for their officers to process PR files in 6 months maximum and with DHA 30 months+ still in a limbo. Frustration beyond words.
Anyone with expired bvb got tourist visa? Anyone tried their luck?
They are not processing even student visas…
From midnight today unvaccinated can also travel to NSW state without need of quarantine. Not understanding what is wrong with DHA’s visa processing now.
Yes one of my friend’s student visa application is on received status since 2+ months. His course start date is already gone and when they will pick his application it will be zero chance of getting visa because the course is already started. Now he had to beg the university to provide him some kind of course extension letter so that his application can allign with the rules set for student visa grant. This is such a ridiculous system where applicant have no fault. It’s their fault that they are taking ages to finalise applications. Too many complaints even the media is smashing their heads but they have no shame.

Nothing for expired bvb holders. One lady got her visitor visa granted on the basis of expired bvb stuck offshore. So, I also want to give it a shot.

I was also thinking to do that. I got a a CO in feb hence why i thought to wait for grant but now i will go ahead with that.
That’s good if you have a co contact. I will wait for few weeks and then will apply visitor visa on the basis of expired bvb.
Ya. I hope they dont put tourist visa application in a limbo as well. I am praying opposition to win on 21st and their Immi minister urgently look into visa processing as a priority.

Bro my suggestion to you tourist visa is somewhat a risky decision although you got a positive news of someone but I heard a bit opposite news about it (a case of expired bridging visa holder who applied this but…). I do not want to provide any negativity thats why I marked my words carefully…otherwise decision is yours but you should have solid grounds for this…

This person case some weeks back… I heard from a comment section of agent’s video that DHA did not grant him tourist visa and he also waiting for his permanent visa on expired bridging visa offshore…
Do you have link of the video or post? Would like to check with him on what was their reason of refusal.

Processing time is 39 months for 189 and 10 months for 190 for 90% applications. It is a joke. I am waiting from 26 months for 190.
they mention " As borders reopen, and more people become eligible for travel, these applications are now being finalised"
