Agree with all your points especially with the offshore applicants are more likely to claim unemployment benefits when they reach Australia.

People here are frustrated because the department is biased towards a particular group of migrants and another thing is that the newer applicants are getting grants or co contacts whilst there is no communication for people waiting from over 24 months and some even 36 months.

If they can give grant to an offshore applicant who have applied for it few weeks ago then why can’t they give the grant to the same category applicant who have applied for it since years.

Just because we are habitual of waiting now? How fair is that? It isn’t even matter of grant now it’s straight forward human rights violation.

Staying positive and motivated is another thing but imagine how it feels when people who are behind you in a line are asked to jump the queue to get served first.

Absolutely agree with you, there should be some fairness, I am waiting for 33 months now, very frustrating to see people getting grants who lodged recently.

Is there any place we can all stand united abd raise our voice? apart from just waiting?

We can’t do anything brother as nothing is going to help. We even wrote the emails to ministers as well and they are least cared about us. So just waiting is the only option left.

I agree and love Taiwan but this is a thread about delayed 189 visas. That’s really where the confusion is coming from.

Re: 2024 regret letters - I feel your dread at times, but the reality is there would be mass lawsuits, prospective migrants would choose other countries and Australia’s population would continue to decline. Migrants would try to get in anyway. Plus, we’re bound to see a new government within that time who are more immigration friendly. Even before the pandemic, there was a lot of anti-migrant rhetoric from this cabinet. We’ll all get our grants and the longer this takes, the louder the problem becomes and with each Covid variant becoming weaker, there will be no more excuses.

Let’s wait and watch. UK did that long time back when the stopped skilled independent visa. Nothing stops Australia doing that. Regarding they need immigrants they are already increasing seats for global talent and innovation and can increase PR grants to incoming students. No one can stop aUs of stopping offshore lodged cases because they are liability on them currently. They are looking for assets and not liabilities remember my friend.

bro even global talent and innovation visas are also facing same delaying problems like us especially for offshore applicants…even 485 taking 1 year and student visa also taking 4 to 8 months minimum…look at stats. all visas have same problems these days…even onshore lodged visas are also pending those lodged during and before covid…just check…now election are ahead…so, can’t say what will happen…
