Dear all, I need some expert advice from guys. I applied for 189 in August 2020 (over 7 months) and awaiting this grant. In addition, I recently also got an invitation to apply for a global talent visa. I am kind of confused should I wait for a 189 grant or lodge a global talent visa (this will incur an additional cost in excess of AUD5K). Any thoughts on this. Many thanks!
Congratulations!!
if your medical and pcc are still in valid range than your pr will be granted soon.
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Great to see some activity on the grants, that at least gave us Some hope
I got a question and hoping you would shed some lights, I’ve applied on 25/July/19, onshore ever since. But due to some personal issue I have to head overseas in a few months time, would my case still considered onshore?
My medical and PCC expired last month - not sure whether the case officer will offer an extension on these - have seen few cases where co gave an extension on medical and PCC for 3-4 months and gave grants without asking to renew… Thanks anyway!
if you are onshore then yes co gives extension but if offshore then not sure. their working style is a mystery
you will be considered offshore.
Are you already at offshore or you are heading to offshore after few months?
Heading in a few months. My understanding is that once you step out of Australian land, you’re considered offshore?
yes, you are right - the way they process things for different applicants is a complete mystery. I am onshore for now! Thanks
i have applied 189 onshore in august 2019 and since march 2020 i am stuck in india on expired bvb because of the border closure. I been living in australia since 2013. right now i am considered offshore because i am not physically present in the country.
Definitely, you are being considered as an offshore applicant now.
