Visa Grant Delay 189

Hi guys, I have lodged mine on 30th Jan 2019, CO contact on 27th May 2019 for employment reference, replied on 3rd June 2019, Further Assessment since then. Completed 9 months today.

I was seeing 190 trackers and it seems to me that the processing of applications has reached to August 2019 applicants already. If they still keep on processing, people will get 190 grants in one month.

I think they shall reopen 189 now, keeping the processing of 6 months for 190 applicants. Just some thoughts.

Hi guys, i lodged in March , no CO Contact till now, status is still shown as “Received”

Good luck to you man.

Yeah right, Don’t know what their logic is, on one side they are struggling with backlog and there are rumours that they are short of manpower, also that their priority is regional visa, then what is the point of inviting more 189 application if they can’t clear for those who are waiting since a year
do they just want more and more people to Keep waiting and pay huge amount of money

Very similar to my status, points and timelines, Lodged 7Nov '18. Also received "Assessment commence“. Status currently still “received”. Hang in there!

So ur PCC and medical must be expired by now? Any co contact regarding that ?

There is hardly any work that happens in Australia between 15th December to 15th January. If you are not getting a grant by 15th December
I would not expect it before Feb.

In the middle of all this confusion, one thing is clear that the sentence I (maybe others too) Have spoken the most in my entire life is :

Let me just get PR and then

! ( bas ek baar PR aa jaye )

No matter what the question is, its a standard bloody response because so many things are directly or indirectly dependent on it.

Some would say - “nobody told you to stop enjoying and kill your time worrying about it” . Well, tell this to the recruiters who would immediately reject your applications for even a 3 month contract role when you still have 6+ months remaining on current visa. This is just one example of what all of us have been facing for last few years and now we have 33 months of processing time on top of it.

So even if it appears to be a sensible advise to live in the moment and enjoy every bit, realistically it is impossible to do that when you have every plan linked to each other and your main binding force for that is “where you will execute these plans”. We all Have decided the “where” and paid for that, just the “when” is suffocating.

I hope the processing starts soon and we all get our grant asap so that we can focus on much more important things in life.

Let us just get PR and then
!! ( maybe we can celebrate together  )

Cheers !

Correct. We have already applied (and paid
) for new PCC, even though we have had no CO contact. Will wait for first CO contact before redoing medicals. Just can’t risk the $$$ - if it takes 33 months we might then have to redo it a third time.

Do you think , doing PCC and medical before it expired and upload it to immi account is a good idea ? Anyways CO will be asking for the same and it will delay the process again ?

We will get thru’ this !!

Dear, trust me you nailed it, good to see someone feels the same , daily i think “bus ek baar PR aa jaye”, "letme just get PR once then i will change whole world " , and only someone who is in this phase and mindset can understand this situation and feeling, family and friends say that who is stopping you to do what you want even if you don’t have PR and succeed, but they don’t understand how it feels when you need something badly

any stats on the no of grants for 189?

yes, i think it is. at least my agent recommended me to do so.

Can you please tell me how long is PCC and Medical valid for ? We got it done during March 2019

We got it done in March,18. Don’t think grant will come by March,19 by looking at current trend; hence recommending
 (Application lodged in April,19)

Thank you
Please note, PTE, they will not be asking to re-do for sure I got it checked with immigration help desk as well Since at all times, you may not get best scores or same scores

I don’t think you can redo medicals without new HAP ID provided by CO
Because, sometimes CO might ask you to do a different set of medical examinations from what you did earlier. So, its better to wait for CO contact when it comes to medicals.

Hello, You know friends I m checking this discussion forum almost 5 times a day, if there is any new info. What are the tips to be less impatient. Actually I am shocked by these delays and can’t stop my mind thinking anything else apart from it as I spent my whole savings into it. I know some of you might be having same feeling and what are the ways to overcome it.
