My case is similar to yours to an extent. I have applied for 485 visa on 21-May-2019 and for 189 visa on 11-Jun-2019… Both not yet processed, I am offshore now.

My application date was 13/3/20, I am from Pakistan which comes in 28 countries where 1-5 cases of Polio are reported yearly. Gurminder from the trend it looks like they are assessing one year old applications and after that they will proceed to old applications.

If you applied on 13/3/20 then your medical should be valid (presuming you did medical around the lodgement date), then why they asked to redo medical? Are you in Australia or Pakistan? - if you are already in Australia then you might have taken polio vaccination at the time of entering Australia, then why they are asking for it again? This is strange, haven’t heard about this for onshore applicants…
I applied my Graduate 485 visa on 25 July 2019 and done Medical at that time. After that I received invitation on 13/03/20 and my graduate visa medical was valid at that time.
I am in Australia and submitted Polio certificate at the time of Student Visa application from Pakistan. Not sure why she asked me for polio vaccination.
Oh, this makes sense. Probably, if you never left Australia after the student visa lodgement then the old certificate may suffice. Did they ask for polio certification for 485 too?
No. I am too surprised, we six friends got 189 invitation at the same time and their grants came two weeks ago. None of them was being asked to provide Polio Vaccination.
