Not necessarily. There is an applicant in this forum, I think electrical engineering, located onshore, waiting nearly two years and hasn’t been contacted even once.
He posted this information only few weeks ago in this forum.

They don’t seem to be guided by the queue (age) to finalise processing as we have seen over the last two years shifts on processing time monthly.
Only few months ago processing time was shown below 12 months and back then they already had applications aged 12 months now in the range of 18 to 24 months.
So, It’s hard to know. It seems they can take longer than 24 months as the data provided was as of 30th of September and in October alone they only awarded 290 visas and with processing time 9 months 75 % and 19 months 90 % and there were already around 2K applications waiting between 18 to 24 months, meaning some of them may be now sitting at 26 months.
Bear in mind there are only 6,500 places available and the backlog is 13 K and priority processing is given to priority occupations regardless the age of their applications and they keep inviting within these occupations even with the lowest score 65 points as happened in October round.
My gut feeling is this year is only for those occupations and the others will be carried forward to the next financial year regardless their age and that may depend on the next financial year budget. NZ stream applications also need to be decided.
So, out of 6,500, which is a planning level, not a target, meaning they may decide only 5 K, they need to allocate at least half of the total visas to NZ stream, which doesn’t go by occupation, and they have already decided more applications for that stream than points tested.
Hi just for curiosity sake can I ask you what’s your occupation and the age of file?
My occupation is neither in the priority list nor critical sectors and I lodged my application in April 2019.
That’s very long wait.
Yes, It’s and It looks like It will last until next financial year.
Hi all kindly tell me is there unemployment could be an effect on grant of visa?? I left my job before visa lodgement but i did job only for 6 months (non relevant and not claiming points) which i have included in my visa application just to provide information and however this job has no relation with my visa invite.
No effect
Thank you Dear Gurminder for answering my question
I have mechanical engg occupation. i think it is in priority. But i am waiting from 8 months now. however there are only 38 offshore applications of mechanical in 190 subclass as per FOI data.
Sure will let you know if I hear something.
Don’t go by this forum for subclass 190…Its planning levels is way higher than 189 and they can clear the backlog.
So, you better use a forum for visa190.
Sir very sorry
But there is no active forum of 190 as per my knowledge.
My situation is now same as much as like you.
Kindly adjust accordingly.
Well they are granting a lot of 190 visas even to the offshore applicants irrespective of their occupation. Your grant might be 3-4 months away.
But i am waiting from 8 months now lodged in march 2019 (offshore.single applicant). Sorry i am using this forum but i was continuously reading your posts from the last around 5 months but never posted here my comments from my side. But now i am little bit afraid about what is going on actually in immigration. So i first time i posted my questions here. So, please don’t mind and I request to you all adjust me in this forum if possible.
its “march 2020”
It’s not the same. My application is aged 19 months and for subclass 189.
There is order processing document for these visas and subclass 190 is better classified than 189. There are differences between the two in terms of planning levels and processing pace as a result. They all have to do with government policies.
Sorry, This is not a right reference for you. You’re free to look at this forum but you’ll stress out unnecessarily. Check disclosure logs if you want to know what’s going on in your visa subclass.
We are worse off compared to the visa you applied for.
Your expectations may be different to ours.
Your comments or update on any grants for subclass 190 may create confusion and wrong expectations to visa 189 applicants.
I can understand your concerns and brother don’t worry you will get your grant soon.
I think you are onshore applicant??
Appreciate that, but we want to be realistic on what’s happening.
Is form 80 necessary? i have no travel history outside my home country and i included all address history in visa application already. Because i did not find any column for it in application, as per my knowledge application format little bit have been changed after July 2019. Questions like address and travel history now in built in the online visa application itself, however previously it was not the same.
