Visa Grant Delay 189

My 2 cents.

Covid made every department work at probably 60-70% of productivity due to many logistical issues. And as per as DHA is concerned, immigration is one of the many responsibilities it has in hand.

Of the 60-70% of productivity, majority be going into 1.day to day emergency activities 2. COVID related stuff (govt tends to utilise resources across different activities during pandemic situations). Managing travel, quarantine and addressing the queries who are abroad(residents &citizens and their family members)

Considering all these, they would have spared 2-3% effort on immigration related activities(PRs). These limited efforts are primarily going into critical applications.

PS: These are my views. Mostly based on what i read, comprehend and imagine. I dont have any contacts at any level.

I did mention “certain industries” so it’s relevant because I experienced it. Doesn’t meant you have to as well.

Anyways, Cheers.

I agree and thanks for making everybody aware of it.

We need to keep reminding about it.

How do I sign

You can’t.

Only Australian residents or citizens can.

Just ask your friends who meet the requirement to do it.

Someone recently got their 189 grant while offshore For 261313. I just saw it in the tracker.

That’s maybe because the occupation is in the priority list.

Is it an old application?

Old application march2019. But pmsol applies only for sponsored visas isn’t it?

Yes, that’s right.

It seems they’re taking into account the list for this visa as well, at least for offshore applicants.

As there was a registered Nurse offshore who was contacted few weeks ago and I think her application was also from March-April 2019.

So, it gives the impression the ones granted from offshore are from the priority list.

The good thing though They’re both old applications.

The petition says the expiry of language certs. I thought they don’t expire after you lodge, they look at the time between the date of result and lodgement date? It gave me heart race to think about retaking the PTE. Please tell me it is not true :smirk::roll_eyes:

That’s not true.

I think it was imprecise. The documents that indeed expire are PCC and medicals. The point in any case is that the expiration of a document may delay further processing.

Phew:cold_face: I can’t go through that stress anymore.:rofl: We can redo the Police checks and prevent delays when they pick up our cases but we can’t do that with health checks? right?

Medicals can’t be done again without a new HAP ID.

Case officers provide it. Ideally, if they are responsible for delays, they shouldn’t request a new one.

As a general rule, they may or not request to do medicals again.

Congrats, can you share the exact date when you applied? I hope they are going sequentially as i applied on 3rd April, 2019.(Onshore)

Congrats on your grant.

Long wait. Finally it’s over.

Why were you contacted three times for health?

There was not much gap between each co contact, right?

We all do.

Note he provided medicals in Sep.

Mine was on after yours (i.e., late April).

but did your first medicals get cleared in inmiaccount ?

Please add a case in immitracker which helps us to assess our fate
