Visa Grant Delay 189

Is anything is getting processed for 189 during the COVID 19 situation ? I’ve lodged my application on April 11th 2019, but till now no news. However, I can people who applied in Jan 2020 have got grants for the same occupation?

Can someone share your experience what exactly the process they are following?

Will they ask for updated PCC and Medicals again?

Are anything that I need to be ready with?

Thanks in advance

I’ve received the immi assessment email back in 2019 ( Feb 28 to be exact). I haven’t heard anything since. What a CO may ask is at his/her own discretion. It’s hard to predict anyones case. All I can say is hang in there and your grant will come soon.

Ohh… Thats really scary… What to do in this case ? Should we call DHA ?

I am choosing to just wait it out. There is not much I can do at this point. You could try calling them though. Please do let me know if you get any positive response.

Seems like grants have slowed down due to COVID-19. I haven’t seen a lot on immitracker either.

Applied in sep 2018, ICT Security Specialist - 262112. immi assessment email back in 2018 nov. Got email on 27/03/20 to do medical & police clearance again . so hang in there .

Thanks infoZ  not sure what’s taking our grants so long :frowning: I have to make an effort now to stay motivated and positive . I am still hopeful it will come thru soon

Will 6 months travel ban (Australia) impact our grants ??? Do we need to face delays or can get grants despite travel ban ? Anyone has any idea ?

Did the DHA release any official statement on GSM processing during this time? I am an onshore applicant waiting for over 1 year now and I am worried about the current employment scenario as most businesses are shutting down. Having no long-term visa, if my workplace shuts down it will be almost impossible for me to find a job on a bridging visa and I am not even eligible for all the benefits and subsidies the government is offering. This is just getting overly stressful at this point.

The processing times still show up as 12 months on the website. I am not aware if there are any changes to it. The situation is not ideal. Have you tried emailing DHA?

@vertigo:Did you call DHA asking for the status of your application, If so what did they say? As i am in the same situation, tomorrow it will be 12 months since i applied for 189 (Onshore) got CO contacted for Medical checkup sand Police check (previous ones expired) on on 13th Feb, submitted the same on 25th Feb . Since then no response.

I had my PCC CO contact on 26th feb and no update since then. I have seen on immitracker that people got their grant between 3-5 weeks after CO contact.

hi can you call me on 9976666093

my application is under further assessment, what does this mean??? anyone seniors

sorry it is 9876666093

I didn’t. I am guessing they have limited to no processing at this stage of the pandemic season. I had a CO contact on 13th Feb 2020 and responded on 19th, it has been over 5 weeks now but no reply.
