Visa Grant Delay 189

Lodged in April 15, 2018 with 80 points, with spouse as secondary applicant. No CO contact yet.

What is the stream that you applied for?

Hi Vishal

I really appreciate your patience, waiting for 02 years , but why doesn’t the DHA team understand that our life comes to stand still, as there are so many decisions which are pending bcoz of our 189 / 190 cases , practically this process is of 2-4 years, where in we cannot concentrate on our work / life / family / finance , so many decisions are pending bcoz of the grant .

I hope these DHA people also understand the importance of our time and I sincerely pray we get our Grants, there should be some way the AU should prioritise this process ands close all grants in 4-6 months and not make ppl wait for 18-24 months , I hope we have some way where we can express our concern to them

Use the waiting time to save money! Living in Australia without a job will deplete your savings in no time. Even if you get the visa, applying for a job from overseas even with a PR won’t be easy!

Congrats, hopefully we all get there soon.

Lodge means you just applied EOI or you have got the invitation
I asked my MARA agent that we should do PCC and medical proactively. He said all this we do after getting invite. April 15, 2018 is like almost 2 years
 its like limit
here people have shared few links or emails
send mail and feedback every where. You have full right to ask
 its been almost 2 years

I have tried all that. Below are the steps I took:

Wrote feedback mail to DHA, Wrote to ombudsman, Called DHA and mentioned my case number and complained about long wait times

All I get is a generic response. Not sure what to do apart from this

To everyone still waiting, especially from 2018 and January/February 2019, please don’t get discouraged. Your grant will come. Also good thing the pace of 189 has picked up significantly. Those months when there was no movement were tough months. So again I say stay strong. Your grant is on the way, unless you’ve overclaimed points or something serious.

Very easy to say. But difficult to follow. I have been waiting for close to 2 years now for a CO contact. Also, as for over claiming points, its unclear till you receive the invite, not after that.

Have you even read your past comments that even caused this thread to be locked and the offensive words you used to describe the citizens of the country you’re desperately trying to get into?

And how is encouraging people to save up for the big move while waiting for the visa a negative thing? You will still need funds even while looking for a full time job. Those part time jobs you’re talking about will not land in your feet when you arrive at the airport.

. So if you decide to put your life “ on hold” waiting for the visa that’s your choice.

Congratulations anubha, finally your wait is over. May I ask who was your CO assigned, I got two CO contacts one from Simone and other from Lisa, also is it possible for you to get the no. you contacted from your friend. I am in Aus atm so may be I can contact them as well. Thanks

Hi Guys, I just got the PR grant. Thanks everyone who shared their thoughts and experience in this forum. It was really helpful. As I need to surprise my wife I deleted my case in the tracker. I will update it back tonight. Wish you all good luck.
