Congrats to everyone who received the grants and all the best for rest of the folks who are waiting like me. I see lots or onshore grants and some offshore grants too in past few weeks. I am hoping that offshore grants are still getting considered in covid-19 2nd wave.

Hi everyone, Today I have applied for 482 visa after this painful and never ending(ongoing) wait of two years on my 189 and 485 applications, which are still under consideration by the DHA.

Why 485 is taking so long? Never heard of 485 taking so long. Did you attempt to contact DHA?

because he is stuck offshore and 485 didnt get processed when someone is offshore

Actually 485 visa is being granted to offshore candidates who are impacted by the pandemic, but perhaps DHA is not considering me in this category.

So finally I applied for 482 VISA after nomination by University of Western Australia as employer. I am arranging the medical examination for this visa. I was wondering if I can request the eMedical team here in Denmark to include the additional tests needed for 189 visa as well, Just to ensure that my medical examination is valid for this visa as well.

So, you are offshore? That makes sense. Additional tests were possible through ‘My Health Declarations’ that enables applicants to do medical prior to submitting an application. But I think that is suspended for now. Also, not sure whether they used to offer this outside Australia or not. Perhaps you can try contacting the eMedical team in your country and discuss with them. All the best for 482!

Applied onshore for 485 and 189 on 21 May 2019 and 11 June 2019 respectively, then I had to leave Australia on 1st Sept 2019. It has been a traumatizing wait since then, giving me suicidal thoughts all the time. This unexpected delay has affected my life seriously, financial side of it is the least that I am worried about.
