Hello George, i have this same concern and i have not received any clear 100 % sure answer of this from my consultant, please read my comments above and if you get some details please share with me as well…
Visa Grant Delay 189
Hi guys I’m new here
I have lodged my 189 eoi on 15/5/18 with 65 points and have updated to 75 points on 11/10/19. Does this mean the processing time will count from 11/10? Hope for the best for other applicants as well.
Yes exactly, new date will be the one when your points increased, and you will get invite according to your 75 point and current availability/cut off of your job code…
Your processing time will start once you submit the application after getting invitation. Make sure you’re ready with your documentation to submit the application as soon as you get the invite.
Had posted feedback on homeaffairs website for the delay for 189 . This is the reply which i recieved.
The Department of Home Affairs has received your feedback on 22 October 2019. Feedback on our processes and services is important and we thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
Processing times are impacted each month by changes in application volumes, seasonal peaks, complex cases, and incomplete applications. We assess applications on a case-by-case basis, and actual processing times can vary due to individual circumstances including:
· whether you have lodged a complete application, including all necessary supporting documents
· how promptly you respond to any requests for additional information (remember to check your junk folder, as our correspondence may auto-filter into spam)
· how long it takes to perform required checks on the supporting information provided
· for permanent migration visa applications, how many places are available in the migration program
You can monitor the processing times on our website: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times/global-visa-processing-times
Your correspondence will be sent to the relevant processing area for information.
We hope this information has been helpful to you.
What a JOKE
I lodged in the middle of March and heard nothing yet.
I’m angry, devastated and depressed…
If I knew this would happen, I would’ve never started this process. It is a SHAME for a country like Australia.
Hahahaha, same old , typical , pre-written response…
we all understand your frustration bahaaraa. I think, most of the forum members are now tired of worrying due to this unforeseen delay.
One more visa grant today as per the immitracker… Good news.
Have just posted a feedback/complaint on the home affairs portal, will update when I get a response.
The grants are obviously happening but only for pre-Feb applicants… there is zero progress on applications from March onwards.
I feel like I have been scammed for money. I wish now, I could have used this much amount of my hard earned money and irreversible time(in yrs!) into something else. Imagine, getting scammed by a country ! that too country like Australia
yes, it could be that they are starting from where they have left at…
Hi All,
I called the immigration department day before yesterday on +61 26196 0196 and here are the list of questions which I asked.
-
Why the processing times vary ? Ans - it all depends on multiple factor and number of invitation we recieve. I cannot say at this moment of the reason why it happened.
-
Which processing time should I consider a. The one which is at the time of visa lodgement i.e. 6-7 months b. Or the one which is showing right now ? 18 to 33 months Ans- she told me that it should be current time to be considered and not the one which was showing at time of visa lodgement.
-
What if I apply for 190 visa as it is moving fast ? Ans - it is completely your decision and I cannot comment on that.
-
In case if the baby is born outside Australia then what are the steps to be taken ? Ans - she told that on website there is a link in which we have to enter different cases.
https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/change-in-situation/had-a-baby
-
Do I have to intimate if there is promotion or job change. Ans - yes you can fill the form which is 1022 in case there is any change in job or profile or promotion.
-
Is there a chance that processing time will reduce ? Ans - yes there is probability for that but I can’t guarantee you. The processing time vary from time to time as per multiple factors like number of invitations receieved, time of visa lodgement, incomplete applications etc
-
If I lodged the visa 3 months back, and currently if it is showing 18 months then should I consider next 18 months or should I consider 15 months subtracting 3 months which already passed ? Ans - you should consider 15 months and not 18 months for your case.
Thanks all for all your updates and support.
Thanks for sharing, cheers!
Dear Aj, Thanks for sharing. Not Possible. I’m going to submit a 190 EOI. Let’s see what happens.
Almost 6000 regional PR issued within the first quarter of the year. I would not be surprised if there is only1 one person processing 189’s at present. Regional PR is where the government’s focus is but it is capped at 25000 per year. Therefore, 189’s turn will come soon. No doubt the caseload is way more than the CO’s available, hence the talks about privatising visa processing.
