Visa Grant Delay 189

If immigrating is really very important for you then you may explore Canada while waiting for 189. Their process is fast and very transparent. The only thing in your way will be IELTS as they dont accept PTE. My friend’s friend while waiting for his Aussie PR got his Canadian PR and moved there. He got both country’s PR now. But again, only few would invest their energy and money for such a thing. I would suggest focusing on your health folks.

Great idea, but the expense is just too much. I have popped more than R70K for me hubby and kid for Aussie visa then another for Canada would mean an entire year savings wasted on visa apps no other investments.

Guys. No idea about my question above? How to submit 190 eoi, while 189 visa has been lodged?

You can not apply for 190 once you get visa invitation from 189 SC visa … Either withdraw your 189 visa application and then apply for 190 and take a risk. Otherwise wait for 189 visa grant.

just take a chill pill

I lodged my application for 189 visa on 05 Feb 2019. Since lodging, I secured a permanent job with a company in Brisbane, is there anyway to convert the 189 to say a 186 Visa to get there faster as the company needs me to start work as soon as possible? Any suggestions. Thanks so much.

I couldn’t find any official document which states that one cannot apply/lodge for two subclass at the same time. where is your source?

how did you get the job in the first place? Are you in Australia already on work visa?

You can apply for as many visas you want but you can’t accept more than one visa invitations(ITA). Either you can lodge 189 visa or 190 visa not both. I had got the visa invite (ITA) for 190 NSW SC visa in the month of Feb 2019 but i waited for 189 SC visa and got the visa invite (ITA) for 189 visa in March 11 2019 round because had i lodged my visa application for 190 visa then my application would not have been considered for the Mar 11 2019 189 visa round.

Would you please provide supportive document (link, paper, instruction, …) for this argument? As far as I know, one can lodge as many applications as s/he wants but once received granted visa for one of those applications, all other lodged applications will be canceled automatically.

Thanks for your reply. I am in South Africa and arranged a job through my current employer who also has interests in Australia. So it’s just a matter of waiting for the visa so I can get into Australia to start work for them.

One of my friends, who has already lodged 189 visa, created a new skillselect account and sent an 190 eoi. How it comes?

Did he receive visa invite for 190 SC visa too after lodging visa application for 189 SC visa?

When i say Lodge i meant you can not get two visa invitations simultaneously and accept both(lodge visa application for 189 and 190 together). You can either file 189 visa appln or 190 visa appln. Share a case where an applicant has filed/lodged both 189 and 190 visa applications together. Can you share any case till now?

No, I cannot. but the claim of “impossibility” is yours not mine. I’ve searched a lot in official documents but cannot find any proof that lodging two applications at the same time is impossible. However, the fact is that when you cancel a lodged application, they do not pay your application fee back.

I never used impossible word in my post. Are you delusional or something? I said that I have experienced this scenario where i received ITA from 190 visa in the second week of Feb2019 and that invitation is only valid for 3 weeks unlike 189 visa where one get 60 days to submit their application. Plus my hired visa consultancy agent confirmed with me once i submit 190 SC visa invitation, my visa application will no longer be available in 189 SC visa pool. Therefore, from this we can infer that one can not lodge two different visa applications at the same time. Hope that clears my point.

Hi, I have lodged 190 in January 2019 and then got the invitation for 189 on Feb 11th 2019. I have lodged 189 on March 03 and withdrew my 190 application.(I am regretting for my decision now but thats a different story). So, you can lodge multiple applications but DHA recommends to withdraw the first one if you are lodging a second one…
