189 onshore or offshore

Continuing the discussion from Visa Grant Delay 189:

Hi All,

Got few questions regarding my PR 189 Visa

I have received an invitation in January 2020. Received invitation while i was onshore, then I travelled to India in the same month January 2020. Lodged visa on March 2nd 2020 from India ( On immi website it’s mentioned visa can be lodged from anywhere). Stuck here in India due to COVID. Points claimed for PR include Australian qualification, professional year, regional study.

  1. Will I be considered onshore or offshore applicant

  2. Do I need to inform immigration ( via change in circumstances)

My TR expired in Sept 2020. Also, bridging visa was not given as I was outside Australia

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Since you have lodged application when you are offshore, your application will be treated as offshore only.
