Hi All, I am really confused about whether or not there is a financial requirement for coming to Australia on a 190 visa. When I applied to Victoria for sponsorship the application asked what we had total in cash and equity, which I answered, but at no point did the Victorian Government ask for proof of my claims and we were granted the sponsorship. I have now completed the actual application for the 190 visa through IMMI and there was no request to see bank statements or proof of equity or anything of the sort. Will we be asked to prove that we have a certain amount of money at some point in the process? Will we be asked when we arrive in Australia at customs to furnish some kind of proof? Just want to prepare ahead of time and not be stuck. Thank you so much in advance!
Will I be asked for a bank statement for a 190 Visa (Victoria sponsored)?
In my experience, in 99.9% of cases, bank statements aren’t asked.
I have personally in the last 4 years of observing Australian migration, seen just 1 case were an applicant has mentioned that he was requested a proof of funds. I tend not to believe that applicant.
Thank you so much for your response. Do you know at which point he/she was asked? I’m just so worried they ask us at customs or something and I won’t have what they want and they will send us back to the US…
