What is PCC?

Police Clearance Certificate. Everyone who wants to enter Australia must be of good character and will be assessed against the character requirements. As part of your visa application, you might be required to provide a police clearance certificate or other evidence to satisfy the character requirements.

Hi @Andy-MyImmiTracker,

If I lived in two countries after turning 16, (2 years in India) and the rest in USA, do I have to get PCC for both the countries? The last 10 years I have lived only in USA, but have vacationed in India for a total of maybe 8 months (when added up).

Hey, as per the instructions on the home affairs web-site: You need penal clearance certificates from overseas countries if: you lived or traveled overseas since the age of 18.

In your case, it seems that only the US one will be required, if you are still in the US, you will need 2: State and FBI summary check. (https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/citi/appl/what-documents-do-you-need/good-character-and-offences)

However, maybe, to be in a safer state, get one from India, as you have accumulated some stay there, not 12 months as per instructions, but by all means try to avoid any CO contact requesting any documents.

CO contact tend to delay grant by 3-4 month each.

HI @Andy-MyImmiTracker,

I got 3 PCCs (Germany, Malaysia and Australia) for my state 190 application. Based on the information provided in the immi site (https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-nominated-190#HowTo) that Australia PCC needs to be of 1 year validity specifically - I have my Australia PCC as of Jan 2019 where else Germany’s as of Aug 2017 and Malaysia’s August 2017 as my prep then for EOI.

Do you think that I might be asked for a new PCC for Germany and Malaysia?

Cheers, Tammy

Yes. You will be asked for new ones. I suggest to get them before CO requests it, otherwise you will face a delay.
