What happens in ip1 and ip2 background check? How do we know which status we are in?

Hi, My earlier BGC status was: "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check." and it's now changed to "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.". So am I in IP1 or IP2? Thanks!

Thanks my Ahmedabadi brother:) So even this message (processing BGC) is first time, it's still IP2, correct?

My BG Check status also same as that of You. Some said in the canada visa forum it is IP1

Yeah you'r right! I saw the same. Some says it's in IP1 if "In process" first time and IP2 when it again changes to "In Process" after NA. So process may look like this "In process"-->NA--> "In Process". So let's see what happens:)
