Thanks for your reply. I am in South Africa and arranged a job through my current employer who also has interests in Australia. So it’s just a matter of waiting for the visa so I can get into Australia to start work for them.

One of my friends, who has already lodged 189 visa, created a new skillselect account and sent an 190 eoi. How it comes?
Did he receive visa invite for 190 SC visa too after lodging visa application for 189 SC visa?
When i say Lodge i meant you can not get two visa invitations simultaneously and accept both(lodge visa application for 189 and 190 together). You can either file 189 visa appln or 190 visa appln. Share a case where an applicant has filed/lodged both 189 and 190 visa applications together. Can you share any case till now?
No, I cannot. but the claim of “impossibility” is yours not mine. I’ve searched a lot in official documents but cannot find any proof that lodging two applications at the same time is impossible. However, the fact is that when you cancel a lodged application, they do not pay your application fee back.
I never used impossible word in my post. Are you delusional or something? I said that I have experienced this scenario where i received ITA from 190 visa in the second week of Feb2019 and that invitation is only valid for 3 weeks unlike 189 visa where one get 60 days to submit their application. Plus my hired visa consultancy agent confirmed with me once i submit 190 SC visa invitation, my visa application will no longer be available in 189 SC visa pool. Therefore, from this we can infer that one can not lodge two different visa applications at the same time. Hope that clears my point.
Hi, I have lodged 190 in January 2019 and then got the invitation for 189 on Feb 11th 2019. I have lodged 189 on March 03 and withdrew my 190 application.(I am regretting for my decision now but thats a different story). So, you can lodge multiple applications but DHA recommends to withdraw the first one if you are lodging a second one…

Don’t feel bad - back in March the 189 stream was the better option compared to 190 for sure.

Can anyone give few points, how 189 is better option compared to 190. Asking, Just to understand. I am thinking 190 is restricted to state , who nominated for first 2years. after that it as same as 189. I feel this is the one difference …
Please clarify one thing can two visa application (189 visa and 190 visa) be lodged together at the same time? Did you lodge both the applications together or withdrew 190 application then lodged 189 application? Kindly clarify…
No dear, I’m not delusional & hope you as well. These are your words: “You can not apply for 190 once you get visa invitation from 189 SC visa”, “Either you can lodge 189 visa or 190 visa not both”, “You can either file 189 visa appln or 190 visa appln” and they simply mean that according to you lodging 190 and 189 at the same time is impossible. Your point is clear. but it is just your(one) case and cannot be generalized.

That’s right. With 190, one has to stay in particular area, mostly suburban, as decided by the state for some time. After which visa holder can settle anywhere in the country. With 189, there are no such restrictions.

I wish the DHA executives could check this blog to get a glimpse of the confusion, the frustration and the feeling of taking a wrong decision, that all the members here are having and act accordingly.
