Folks I might be thinking out loud here, but correct me if I’m wrong. People with expired BVB’s can they not apply for tourist visa based on grounds that they have unfinished business in Australia as they were caught off guard when borders were slammed shut. Me for instance, still have all my original documents, my suitcase all my belongings lying there. Aren’t these good grounds to apply for a tourist visa? Especially when we are totally uncertainty about ETA of our grants.

Hey, I applied my 189 application onshore and I am stuck overseas due to expired bvb. I am thinking of applying visiting visa. But I am not sure if Australia will reinstate my bridging visa A when I enter. Any thoughts?

Thanks :+1:. And I don’t think they will add bvb in their legislation. I will suggest all my friends here who has expired bvb should apply for visit visa.

In 2020 the department stated that the expired bvb holders can apply for visitor visa once all the restrictions are lifted. I think the time has now come. However there is no legislation as such for this situation. Proceeding without proper information is not a good idea. We should consult our lawyers asap regarding this.

In that case, it wouldn’t be wise to get impulsive and apply for visitor visa. Let’s hope there’s some relief for people with expired BVBs

Yes I will talk to them tomorrow. I will let you know what they have to say about it. Logically they should give 600 visa grant to all expired bvb holders l.

Never heard about a partner visa being refused. Even if they refuse, there will be an option to appeal, if all documents and points claimed are valid.
