Any impact on 189?

Hi, Will there be any impact on 189 visa applicants due to the current decision of abolishing 457 visa?

There shouldn't be any major impact. However, they are going to cut down the immigrant intake by 15% for the coming year from 190000 to 160000. So I guess, the cut-off scores might be increased since fewer slots will be made available. Also, adding fuel to the fire is the surge in applications because of the recent 457 changes. If you've got a invite already you don't have to worry.

I have already got the invitation and lodged my visa application. Afterwards, I submitted the pcc and medicals for me, my wife and my baby. What do you think?

If you have got an invite, then there will be no impact. New immigration rules have almost no impact for 189 subclass, so cheers buddy.
