Any one on the N-336 journey

So this discussion is about US Citizenship application that was rejected because the petitioner was outside the US for more than 6 months during Covid times (8 months in total). Anyways the N-400 was rejected for this reason. Talked with the attorney made a compelling argument about why this should not have been rejected. Anyone has any idea how long it takes for USCIS to address such applications, I read that they respond (schedule a hearing) within 180 days, however, wanted to see if someone in the greater community has gone through this process in the last few months.
